Environmental problems constitute an alarming situation in the current international landscape. In Cuba, addressing them is both a priority and a necessity to ensure the survival of the ecosystem. According to the literature reviewed, the starting point of any effective strategy must be the acquisition of educational skills that foster environmental awareness with a formative approach aimed at social actors. In light of this, this research aims to develop a pedagogical strategy for the development of environmental education for primary school teacher training students at the Provincial Pedagogical School of Camagüey. To this end, a qualitative paradigm was used with an action research design applied to a sample of 60 students. Based on the diagnosis, which revealed deficiencies in knowledge on the subject, a system of seven activities was proposed to prepare these future teachers in environmental education knowledge and practices. This system of activities is intended to be integrated into the training curriculum, especially through the Workshop on Martí's Texts course, with the goal of achieving greater environmental awareness and education among students. It is concluded that the strategy will contribute to the development of environmental values and motivate ethical behavior, which promotes the comprehensive training of future primary school teachers.
