The transition to adulthood in young people with severe disabilities represents a multidimensional challenge that requires the active collaboration of the family, educational institutions and society in general. This study aims to analyze, through a systematic review of 20 relevant investigations, the educational strategies implemented to promote autonomy and improve the quality of life of this group during their transition to adulthood. The results identify programs and practices focused on the development of skills for independent living and personal empowerment, highlighting the essential role of the family and the relevance of individualized planning. Likewise, the importance of addressing existing social barriers to promote effective social and labor inclusion is underlined, generating evidence that contributes to improving educational policies and practices and guaranteeing a meaningful transition to a full and inclusive adulthood.
